Rude is much more than just a live cam site. It's a social network with 7.5 million registered users and the site also contains large archives of photos and videos and many other features in addition to live cams. I'll try to cover many of these additional features at the end of the review but being that this is Quality Cam Sites, I'll mainly be focusing on the live cams aspect of Rude. It's free to sign up for an account with Rude and this gets you access to quite a bit of the site. You'll need to buy chips to view private shows with live girls (as well as select galleries, videos, and public live cam shows) and they also offer a VIP membership which costs $1 for 48 hours, $24.93 for 30 days, and $59.93 for 90 days. The advantages of being a VIP member include a minimum of ads, free bonus chips, unlimited video and gallery views, and many other things.
Logging in and checking out the site, I found it quite daunting at first. The main page contains a ton of links (as well as quite a few ads as you start surfing around) and you may find it difficult to decide where to go first. Your best bet might be to just start clicking around and exploring but they also offer numerous help features (email, live help chat, etc.) as well as a welcome audio clip (which you can hear on the main page of your profile) to help you find your way around. As I said, I'm going to mainly focus on the Rude live cams for the purposes of this review so I clicked on over to that section via a link in the main menu. They split the live cam section up into several different sections, some of which look to cost chips to enjoy while others are provided free for registrants. The "PRIVATE Sex Shows" area is our main point of interest but they also offer a selection of voyeur cams (24/7 house cams) as well as both free and pay live sex shows that are prescheduled. There's also a big and somewhat cryptic ad to I'm Live on the main live cams page as well. Checking out the private sex shows area, they've got a pretty familiar setup here. All of the girls are listed over a series of pages (the online ones are listed first as always), each with a preview of that girl's live stream. There's also a flag denoting their country of origin and a pulldown menu lets you view their archives which look to typically contain vidcaps, pics, and videos featuring the girl. A couple of menus at the top of the cam listing let you sort things by country and performer (i.e. girls, guys, couples, etc.). There's also a model index (under Rude Girls in the main menu) that allows you to sort the performers by gender, age, and name. Despite the enormous size of the site overall, it looks like there usually aren't many camgirls online. Out of around 3,300 cam models registered, there seem to only be 8-12 (or less) on at any one time. Of course, if you start refining your search a bit, that number drops down even further. From the looks of things, some girls offer free video chat while others do not (I think if it says "Live Now" on their portrait, they do and if it says "Online Now", they don't). Even the ones that do offer free video chat have text overlaid on the cam feed encouraging you to purchase a private show. From the free cam interface, you can chat textually with the model, view her Rude profile page, and check out a sample video of her. It looks like most girls don't have audio for their free chats, only for private shows. Also, you can only stay in free chat for a certain amount of time before you lose the ability to textually chat with the camgirl. Of course, you can also purchase a private chat from the free interface and they have a great video tutorial that takes you through buying a show and the private show interface which you might want to check out if you're new to all of this. The camgirls typically offer you the choice of either 1-way audio and video or 2-way audio and video (essentially cam to cam and the camgirl will be able to hear you as well). The 2-way costs a bit more than the 1-way. In addition, they have a "Specialty" button which costs more than either of those but I'm not exactly sure what that type of show entails (I think it varies from model to model). Some of the camgirls offer phone chats as well. Anyhow, as I mentioned earlier, the private chats here cost chips...the cost breaks down to roughly $0.07 for a chip and since chats typically run anywhere from 50-70 chips a minute depending on the type of show you pick, you're looking at a relatively pricey $3.50-$5.00 per minute rate. I found some of the girls to be perfectly friendly in free chat while others never responded to even a basic greeting or question. Needless to say, I didn't bother taking those girls private. In any case, when you've found a camgirl you like and you're ready to go private, select the type of show you want and you'll be taken to the camgirl's private room. You'll also be given the option of Rude Snaps. These are basically screenshots of your show...you can have the computer take them automatically at certain intervals or you can take them yourself (having the ability to take Rude snaps or have them taken by the computer adds on additional chips per minute; you can also select No Thanks if you don't want any Rude Snaps at all). The private show interface is simple...the camgirl's live feed is on the left with the chatbox on the right. There are three buttons at the bottom of the screen: you can tip the model (I believe it's $1 each time), take a snapshot of the screen, or end the private chat session. They also provide a timer up at the top of the page so you know how long you've spent in the private chat. It's pretty simple and straightforward. The cam quality is the same in both free and private chat and it's really varies from girl to girl. None of the cams are what I'd call HD (and none are labeled as such either) but there are definitely some nice looking feeds here. Then, there are some not so nice looking ones as well. These are kinda pixelated and the framerate is pretty choppy. Luckily, I'd say most of the cams here fall into the average to good category. I had a few camshows here and the main girl that stood out to me was called Pocahontas. She's a Columbian chick with a hot bod and a pretty face who didn't waste any time stripping down, spreading her pussy and ass, sliding multiple fingers into her twat, and masturbating herself to (what at least sounded like) a real orgasm. Hot show; I'd recommend checking her out. Lastly, I'll go over some of the additional features I mentioned earlier. Covering all of these in any amount of detail is really beyond the scope of this review, but I'll give you a quick idea of what else is offered at Rude in addition to the live cams. They have photo and video archives which are quite large with 50,000+ vids and photosets. Both the photosets and videos are divided up into multiple categories like anal, amateur, blowjobs, handjob, interracial, orgy, mature, Asian, ebony, and more. Despite the separate amateur section, the vast majority of this stuff, regardless of category, looks to be pretty amateurish to me. The quality is variable and I think most of the free stuff is user-submitted. They also have a Premium section where the pics and vids will cost you chips (you can purchase them forever or "rent" them for a limited time). Additionally, the camgirls typically have archived private shows and screencaps for rent and purchase in their profiles. Running down the rest of the main menu, they've got a phone sex section (featuring chicks willing to talk hot on the phone with you), a Text section containing the Rude forum, various blogs, erotic stories and more, and an erotic games section. There's also something called Rude virtual which looks like some kind of adult massively multi-player roleplaying game that you download to your computer and it allows you to interact with other Rude members in a virtual world. They've got quite a bit to see here at Rude in addition to the live cams so be sure to take your time and explore everything. |

| If you're looking for something more than just a live cam site, Rude might be a nice fit for you. The site does offer up a decent amount of live cam content...the amount of available camgirls is typically quite small but they do bolster this with a bunch of other cam features like voyeur housecams and live sex shows. The cam quality is variable but there are a nice amount of cam features (phone chat, cam to cam, 2-way audio, etc.) provided. Still, I think the main difference maker here will be the social network (7.5 million users are currently registered) aspect of the site and the plethora of additional content (galleries, videos, erotic stories, forum, games, and more) available to you. If you're not really looking for all of that stuff, you'd probably be better off hitting up some of our other entries here at QCS but if you are, Rude is definitely a must-see. |
